***** This is a statewide project ****** Sky Scape Industries (SSI) – An AATI Company, provides airborne data acquisition services using advanced sensors carried on a variety of crewed and uncrewed aircraft. SSI will be deploying in the state of Connecticut beginning April 18 and is seeking to hire local resources who are interested in a career in sUAS (small uncrewed aerial systems, aka drones) operations. Starting Pay: $25.00. Increases for highly qualified candidates (see below) Job Description An sUAS Visual Observer (VO) is part of a two-person flight team, using drones for the inspection and maintenance of critical infrastructure assets. The VO works along a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to ensure safe and nominal operations despite working in challenging environments. Visual Observers’ primary responsibility is ensuring the flight operations are executed safely by maintaining visual situational awareness during flight. Secondly, the VO will support the PIC with respect to logistics and staging. Regular work outdoors in a variety of conditions should be expected as well as regular physical activity in a variety of geographic terrains. At its core, the focus of a VO is to support safe operations that require complex data capture requirements. Regular local travel will be required from a few hours to a few days and occasional long-range travel of up to four (4) weeks. Responsibilities • Coordinates and actively participates in ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning support, crew resource management, and safety. • Acts as Visual Observer (VO) on daily field deployments. • Ensures compliance with customer safety requirements, company policy and procedures • Has a basic understanding of relevant Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. • Maintains professional appearance and demeanor while in the field. • Ability to travel up to 75% (North America) Qualifications | Required • Valid driver’s license with a proven driving record • Good communication skills • Ability to think on your feet and help solve critical problems • Intuition and ambition to think “outside the box” • Experience with Microsoft Office Qualifications | Preferred • Experience operating on-road with a trailer load of 7,500 pounds • Experience operating off-road Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) • General interest in aviation • Highschool degree • Part 107 Pilot Certificate • Compensation • Compensation: Commensurate with experience • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment at the cutting edge of new technology If applying for full-time position, we offer: • Medical, Dental, Vision benefits • Paid Time Off • Company Holidays • 401k plan
