At about 12:27 PM on Saturday March 26, 2022, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Michael Alexander, 50, of Randolph and Mayra Dejesus, 48, of Roxbury after responding to a call for a larceny in progress in the area of 800 Boylston Street in the Back Bay.
Officers were advised on approach that the two suspects had stolen multiple pairs of sunglasses from a business at the above location before fleeing the area on foot. As responding officers began to canvass the area, they observed both parties attempting to hide near a parked motor vehicle in the area of 189 Saint Botolph Street. Officers were able to stop the subjects, leading to the recovery of the stolen merchandise which was valued at over $4,000.00.
The suspects were placed in custody without incident after being positively identified on scene. Additionally, officers determined that Alexander was wanted on an outstanding warrant sought out of North Attleboro District Court for Shoplifting and Dejesus was wanted on an outstanding warrant sought out of Wrentham District Court on charges of Shoplifting (2 Counts) and Larceny.
Both suspects will appear in Boston Municipal Court for arraignment in relation to these warrants as well as new charges stemming from this incident: Alexander, Larceny (over $1200). Dejesus, Accessory after the Fact.
