Blue Sky Organics Receives Approval To Deliver Cannabis In Newton

NEWTON, MA — Blue Sky Organics, a wholesale cannabis delivery business slated to open in Newton this year, has received licensing approval from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC), said CEO John Caruso and CFO Jay Jentz. The veteran-owned, social equity business, which was approved for licensing earlier this month, has become the first cannabis delivery business to receive the green light to launch operations in Newton. Delivery operators need both a signed HCA with the city and licensing approval from the CCC, but do not need a Special Permit from the Newton City Council. Blue Sky Organics is currently in the process of constructing its warehouse at 16 Maguire Court in Newtonville and plans to be fully operational by this summer. The business will start off with a staff of about 15 people and four or five Tesla delivery vehicles. "Blue Sky Organics' mission is to efficiently deliver the highest quality cannabis products available direct to our customers doors," said Caruso. "Our online platform will be user friendly and provide our customers with a quick, reliable and simple purchasing experience to get our products out for delivery as quickly as possible." Once its final inspection is complete, Blue Sky Organics plans to deliver within a five mile radius and complete many orders within hours of being placed online. Business hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and drivers are expected to complete between 20 and 60 deliveries every day. "We plan to keep everything kind of close to home and stay in Newton and surrounding areas," said Jentz. "Our main goal is to focus on getting quality product out for delivery direct to the consumer. As things grow and businesses expand, sometimes quality gets lost, but we are trying to keep our focus on the quality of our product." Two other cannabis delivery businesses, Rolling Releaf and Emerald Turtle, have been approved for a HCA with the city, but have not yet received CCC licensing approval.
