Description

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Do you envision a Santa Cruz County with more projects for highways, pedestrians, carpoolers or bicyclists? What's the biggest local transportation challenge? Santa Cruz County's Regional Transportation Commission wants to know the answers to these questions and more as it develops a blueprint for how the county's transportation options should change through 2045. Answers will help the commission define its goals, targets and policies for the 2045 Regional Transportation Plan. The state requires the county to develop this plan, which will help the county estimate how much money is needed to complete project and determine its highest-priority needs. The final report will be adopted June 2022, according to the commission's timeline. The plan seeks to make it easier for people to get around without cars, and reduce transportation-related deaths and injuries, according to a draft of the plan's goals, targets and policies. Members of the public may take this survey to make their voices heard. A Spanish version is available here.
