live journalism + music + storytelling
We all have secrets, whether it's a secret we've never shared or a secret to some kind of success. Join us as local journalists and community members share some of their secrets.
Journalists will be sharing the stories behind their reporting, inviting us into a world usually observed from the outside by most of us.
Community members will also share true, unvarnished stories from their lives. Add in live music, appetizers and a cash bar and the result will be an entertaining, captivating event filled with new connections and new stories.
Join us live in Champaign, Illinois or stream the event virtually.
Our live journalism storytellers:
Lyle Muller PolitiFact Iowa editor; retired former director, IowaWatch.org
Madison McVan Investigative Reporter at Investigate Midwest
Dylan Tiger Managing Editor at CU-CitizenAccess
Reginald Harwick News & Public Affairs Director for the Illinois Newsroom
Live music by Lyle Muller
It is $5 to stream the event and $15 to join us in person (includes appetizers and access to cash bar). In-person tickets purchased the day of the event will be $20.
Investigate Midwest and Iowa Watch are both nonprofit newsrooms based in the Midwest.
