Learn to make toedoodle (or other doodle) slide sandals for children from repurposed leather and rubber soling.
It's time to make sandals! Work with real leather and permanent markers to create a unique pair of slide sandals. Students will learn to cut, decorate, and punch stitching holes in leather to make a band, then stitch the band to the sole.
Students will decorate sandals with permanent "doodley" drawings of their own feet! These sandals are ecological as the tops are made from leather edges left over from shoemaking, and the soles are from a bowling shoe company that went out of business. Finding a new use for existing materials is an ecological action!
