This class is a fun and creative combination of science and art and making your own soap! This two hour beginner level workshop covers the fundamentals of cold process soap making. This class is a fun and creative combination of science and art and making your own soap is a sure way to be confident about what you are using on your body. Each participant will make and take home one pound of soap (equivalent to 4-5 bars) and will be able to choose their own fragrance, colorants, and decorative botanicals to create their own custom bars. This is a very hands on class using oils and caustic materials; please wear closed toe shoes, old clothes, and consider bringing an apron. All ingredients and equipment needed will be provided by the instructor. Gloves and safety glasses will also be provided. Participants will take their soap home in a disposable paper mold. Attendees should wear old clothes or bring an apron. Several immersion/ stick blenders will be available for use but participants are encouraged to bring their own.
