Are you ready for the triumphant return of TACO WARS? NOTE: Taco Wars 2022 is FREE to attend. Food and drinks are purchased with Food and Drink Tickets ($1.00 each). VIP Passes may also be purchased for an enhanced experience! On Saturday April 30, 2022 from 12pm to 8pm, the Prize Foundation, along with presenting sponsors Modelo, Jose Cuervo, and Maestro Dobel, will host Shreveport and Northwest Louisiana's Taco Wars 2022 outside the historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. The festival is free to enter, and every competing taqueria will be providing free samples of chips and salsa, but food & drink tickets will be needed to purchase all other food and drinks. ADVANCE FOOD & DRINK TICKET SALES Want to get tacos faster? Skip the sales line and get tickets at will call so much faster! Pre-purchase tickets in blocks of ten (10) tickets in advance. Each ticket is equal to one dollar ($1.00). Tacos typically range between 3 -5 tickets, depending on the vendor and the taco type. Sodas are 3 tickets.Waters are 2 tickets.Beers are 6 tickets. Margaritas are 8 tickets (house) and 12 tickets (top shelf).So, for example, if you want two tacos, a water and a margarita, 20 tickets would be a good place to start! VIP EXPERIENCE Want to Taco Wars in style? Your VIP ticket gives you access to the following: 5 VIP Taco Tickets (1 ticket buys you any taco) with VIP Taco Xpress Line Access VIP Bar featuring complimentary Modelo beers, Pulpoloco Sangria, White Claw & Coca Cola products."VIP Momentos Especials" including guided Maestro Dobel tequila tasting (at designated times). To celebrate these amazing local businesses and culture, we recruit local taquerias who will sell tacos and compete for the coveted Golden Taco (a $1000 cash prize) as chosen by our panel of celebrity taco aficionados. But that's not all! The audience will decide the winner of the Best Salsa. Every taqueria will provide free salsa and chips for your consideration, and each attendee will receive a voting token. Taste as many salsas as you like, and pick your favorite! The salsa with the most tokens wins $500 cash! Taquerias keep 90% of the revenue from tacos sold at their tent.
