All ages are invited to enjoy a fun day at the lake fishing, playing Cornhole, or just enjoying beautiful Ada Hayden Lake. Come out and fish at JAX Outdoor Gear's Spring Fishing Day. Members of the Ames Anglers and the Fishing Club at ISU will be on hand to assist and offer fish cleaning. For those interested in learning about fly fishing, Ash Burton, of Skunk Bugs Freshwater Flies, will be holding open classes: Casting (9-12pm); and Fishing (12-3pm.) Cornhole games will also be available for use. The Hungry Boys Food Truck will be at the event as well. All attendees are eligible for prize drawings to be awarded at the end of the day. Winners need not be present to win. Prizes include a season pass to the Furman Aquatic Center, two free rounds of golf at Homewood Golf Course, and more. In addition to JAX Outdoor Gear, event sponsors include the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the City of Ames, and Story County Conservation. All those fishing should have proper licenses.
