Join the community engagement program on this free guided hike at Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve, conveniently located in Cayce, SC. Come and enjoy a guided tour through one of SCDNR’s most popular Heritage Preserves of the midlands. Participants can expect to learn about the flora, fauna, and history of the preserve on this MODERATE three-mile hike through the woods. This event will happen rain or shine and conditions of the trail vary from flat and dry to slippery, muddy, and rocky. We will meet in the parking area of the preserve and have water and snacks available for all participants, you must register to participate. Be advised that this location has no restrooms, or any facilities. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking shoes and clothing.
