SANTA CRUZ, CA — Santa Cruz police are warning the public to keep an eye out for thieves this holiday season. People may roam the streets looking for packages or unlocked cars, police said. Santa Cruz police offered some tips on protecting yourself from theft: Sign up for delivery alerts from USPS, UPS and FedExSchedule delivery datesUse in-store pickup optionsAsk neighbors or friends to grab your packagesLock your car and roll up your windowsDon't leave any items in your car — especially if they are in sight Police remind the public that emergencies can be reported by calling 911 and non-emergencies can be reported at 831-471-1131.
