NORTH HAVEN, CT — Three people were arrested after they were found in a stolen Jeep early Sunday morning in North Haven, according to police. Officers were conducting neighborhood patrols around 4 a.m. with a specific focus on the Maple Avenue / Bailey Road area after receiving complaints of suspicious vehicles and people who may have been targeting vehicles, according to police. Police saw a Jeep Liberty parked on Valley Brook Road that was reported stolen from a North Haven resident on March 24. The occupants of the vehicle – 25-year-old Shane Gray, 19-year-old Taquasia Yancey, and a 14-year-old girl, were detained, according to police. Police said Gray, a convicted felon, was found to be in the possession of a loaded gun. All three were taken into custody, according to police. The juvenile was charged with second-degree larceny and released to a guardian. Yancey was charged with second-degree larceny and released after posting bond, according to police. Gray was charged with second-degree larceny, criminal possession of a pistol, stealing a firearm, illegal alteration of firearm identification and risk of injury to a child. He was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
