NEW HAVEN, CT — A report that a student may have had a weapon inside Conte West Hills School led to a "temporary" lockdown Tuesday morning and "random searches among eighth grade students within the building," according to New Haven schools spokesperson Justin Harmon.
Harmon said that the searches were conducted by school security, but that the New Haven Police Department was "contacted after students became uncooperative."
Harmon confirmed that "no weapon was found." He said that "all students and staff are safe."
