BEL AIR, MD — A Bel Air retailer sold a $10,000 lottery ticket recently, according to the Maryland Lottery.
Emmorton Shell at 1902 Emmorton Road sold the scratch-off, which was for the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket game.
It costs $10 to play, and the $10,000 win is a second-tier prize; the jackpot is $100,000.
The player bought the ticket for the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket game at the Route 24 gas station sometime between March 21 and 27, lotto officials said.
Officials said the $10,000 ticket in Bel Air was among 35 that earned lottery players prizes in the last week in Maryland worth at least $10,000.
The top prize for the week that ended Sunday was a $500,000 win scored by a player in the $500,000 Crossword game, whose $20 scratch-off ticket was sold at a Hub Wine & Spirits on Erdman Avenue in Baltimore.
