Description
A fundraiser to support historic preservation in our community. A collaborative event with the Oakland Township Historical Commission. A Jeffersonian Dinner is a delicious meal and drinks with friends that encourages conversation on unique, enjoyable topics that are presented and facilitated throughout the evening. Thomas Jefferson featured these dinners to gain insights on friendships and issues. This new museum tradition promises to be an enjoyable evening that leaves you well fed with many new lifelong friends. How it works: Come ready to meet new people! This event is highly interactive. You will be assigned a seat for the course of the evening. Dinner and 2 wine/beer tickets are included in price of admission. Dinner will be served as a buffet at the beginning of the night. The host will provide the "Rules of Conversation" for the evening, and then periodically offer a new question for discussion. The idea is to have a SINGLE conversation at each table. One person talking, seven people listening. Questions will be history based, inspired by local people of the past. Maybe a Thomas Jefferson inspired question sprinkled in. The hope is that these questions inspire curiosity, as well as a sense of community as we learn about our fellow community members and museum aficionados. Dress is Business Casual. Feel like getting dressed up? Go for it! We're just excited to meet you! Tickets: $75/person - If you purchase multiple tickets in an order, we will do our best to sit the entire group at the same table. No guarantees. $300/table of 8 people - You choose your own guests to sit with. Eight guests. Sales final. No refunds. Thank You!Funds from Museum programs, such as the Jeffersonian dinner, are crucial for the preservation of our Museum buildings, digitizing archives, and providing excellent programming. Your financial support is critical for our long term financial health and for allowing all of us to serve as stewards to our past. Thank you for your generous support.
