2 PartTime/Full Time LOCAL Captains needed for FUN BOAT CHARTERS in Islamorada, Florida Full-time is available (ask), but only Part-time/Hourly options for freelance Captains are listed below. THREE+ years required with USCG license. Pay from $32 to $60/hour (incl.bonus), described below. We are scheduling Charters daily, now through August and will have an updated schedule after that. We have charters booked every day and several boats. You get a minimum of 2 to 3 assigned days per week, and you get bonus pay when you consistently accept additional charters on your unassigned days. At least one weekend day is required each week PLUS peak busy periods surrounding holidays (and summer holiday dates) Discounted housing (furnished studio apartment for 1 person/no animals) may be available by May 1st. Ask. JOB REQUIREMENTS * Valid USCG 6-pack license – Must provide prior to interview * MINIMUM 3 YEARS with license – cannot insure you otherwise * Snorkel trip experience * LOCAL (already living near Islamorada, Key Largo, or Marathon) * Must be a problem-solver and rule-follower. We train you to follow our routes and our business “formula”. We give you guidelines to follow, but you have to be able to work through problems on your own in a safe, courteous, and professional manner on the boat, with customers, and at the dock. * Clean criminal/legal record * No drugs. No drinking (before or during charters). No smoking aboard the boat (smoke-break at the sandbar) * Expertise in maneuvering/docking/anchoring single engine boats * Customer interaction and in-water activities (sandbar) required. Great to have customer service experience for bigger tips and repeat guests. * Great to have experience in the Islamorada bayside, sandbar, and oceanside reef area between markers 88 and 82 (our route)…. BUT not a deal breaker. We will ride-along until you are familiar. * Great to have your own boat that may be plugged into our “fleet” periodically… extra $$. PAYMENT – Part-time/hourly Captains earn Up to $60/hr (incl. Bonus) PLUS Tips *Minimum pay of $100 on assigned days, even if charter day is not booked or if it cancels less than 48 hours before departure (2Hrs dockside work/cleaning/maintenance required, in exchange). Bonus pay when consistently accepting trips on unassigned days each week, starting after 1 month of consistent service. *On UNassigned days: BONUS -Accept extra charters and add $10 bonus dollars per each hour to rates below. * On Assigned days, Trip Pay is $32 to $50 each Hour of the Charter, depending on the length of time ($100 total for a 1 to 2-hour charter, $150 total for a 3 to 4 hr-charter, $200 total for a 5 to 6hr-charter). Short Prep, Cleanup, & Pickup/Drop-off time is included in these rates. 3-hour and 4-hour charters are most popular. Tips average $100 per trip. After your training/ride-along period, they are all yours unless you split them with multiple tandem boats on the same trip. CHARTER DESCRIPTIONS Each trip is 1 hour to 6 hours, plus about 20 mins before and after. Two 4-hour charters are often booked each day. Sandbar, Sightsee, Sunset, & Snorkel charters. No fishing required. BOATS DESCRIPTION Multiple Center Console, Pontoon, and Deck Boat type Well-Maintained, shaded, & equipped, carrying Sandbar water toys, coolers, etc for guests 21’ to 26’ single engines HOW TO APPLY Send a message through Craig's list to apply, and we will email you back.
