ODOT Considers Adding $2.1M Roundabout Near MetroHealth

CLEVELAND — The Ohio Department of Transportation is considering a mobility-improvement plan that would alter traffic patterns around MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland. Construction would focus on U.S. Route 42 (W. 25th St.), I-71 and the MetroHealth intersection. Crews would build a roundabout near the hospital with access to U.S. 42 and Scranton Road. The project would also add a fourth lane to the I-71 south ramp, creating a through lane to the roundabout. ODOT estimates the total construction for the project to be $2.1 million. Construction would necessitate lane closures, but traffic flow would be maintained through the area, the department said. Prior to construction commencing, the department is seeking public comments on the project.
