ELWOOD, IL — The Elwood Police Department is still looking for more witnesses to Sunday morning's crash along Arsenal Road that killed 22-year-old Joliet resident Jeremiah Hill.
The crash happened at 6:07 a.m. at the intersection of Elwood International Port Road. The vehicles involved a 2014 Chevrolet sedan and a 2021 Jeep SUV. Hill was driving the Chevrolet sedan. An ambulance rushed Hill to St. Joe's hospital in Joliet, where he died.
The driver of the SUV is a 28-year-old woman from Houston. She is being treated at the hospital and her injuries are not life-threatening, according to Elwood police.
Elwood Police Chief Fred Hayes told Joliet Patch that both drivers in the wreck worked in the area.
So far, Elwood police have interviewed at least one motorist who saw the crash, but police are still looking to find more witnesses, the chief said.
The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing and anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Elwood Police Department's non-emergency number at 815-423-5411.
