Press release from the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce: March 24, 2022 Fort Smith, March 23, 2022—MVSL has completed the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation matching challenge grant originally issued in January of 2021. The funds received from the grant are allowing MVSL to continue with Phase III of their Legacy of Faith—Vision for the Future Capital Campaign. This is the second challenge grant MVSL has been awarded from the Mabee Foundation. "We hope in the coming years we will be able to partner with the Mabee Foundation again, as we continue to develop our campus into the best home for our residents, and the best place to work for our team members." Said Melissa Curry, MVSL CEO. Phase III of our capital campaign includes an educational training center, library extension, and exterior renovations of our existing Care Center. The training Center will be utilized for new team member orientation, in services, and community support groups and events. The space will also allow us to continue higher education, such as Med Tech certification, LPN and CNA classes, and offer a place for community members to meet for scheduled health related education series. The 800 square feet of library space allows for more residents to enjoy our book club, extensive book collection, game area, and scenic views of our 30-acre campus. The existing Care Center exterior reflects the design era of the 1960's and this renovation will give it a much-needed facelift. The only life plan community in the River Valley, Methodist Village Senior Living offers a home for our community's growing elder population. From Independent Living, Assisted Living, Alzheimer's Special Care, Long Term Care, to in and outpatient rehab. Our beautiful 30-acre campus offers a complete continuum of care for when daily routines become too difficult. With over 60 years of serving our elders, MVSL is the perfect place to live, work, and grow! This press release was produced by the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce.
