SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon City Council is accepting applications as it looks to fill the District 2 seat vacated by recently elected Mayor Dave Hudson. Hudson vacated the seat after securing 35 percent of the vote, or 13,633 votes, in the race to serve as San Ramon's mayor. He bested five opponents, including fellow council member Sabina Zafar, in the race to replace longtime Mayor Bill Clarkson, who hit his term limit after serving a total of 22 years as an elected official. The appointee to the District 2 council seat would serve until the 2022 general election results could be certified by the council, according to the city. All applicants must be adults who are residents of and registered to vote in District 2, a rhombus-shaped district that is bordered by Montevideo Drive to the north, Alcosta Boulevard to the east and south, and San Ramon Valley Boulevard to the west.
