A poets past cast on the town square,
bends you back,
bringing bread to dare.
My presence, evoked,
with which flowers to spare?
Surely beneath the slivered moon
And between those sheen-silvered waters
lays like bricks which we walk,
felt but not seen.
Like the cast of these shadows
lightning my being.
