Goodwill Industries is seeking full Donation Site Attendants for locations in the Portland Area. This position is full time. GENERAL SUMMARY: Greet customers in a professional and courteous manner, accepts donations and offers receipt for donated goods. Ensures that donations are sorted and secure in accordance with Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette (GICW) requirements and maintains a neat, clean and orderly donation site inside and out. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Greet donors at their vehicle and assist in unloading items to be donated. • Accept donations in a friendly customer service manner. • Thank donor for donation and offer a tax receipt to every donor. • Maintain assigned donation center operating hours. • Maintain a well-groomed appearance by following GICW dress guidelines and wearing uniform as required. • Read, know and follow procedures in Attendant Handbook. • Sort and pack donated goods in a timely and efficient manner according to current GICW requirements. • Must adhere to established GICW breaks and lunch protocols. • Keep site and surrounding area neat, clean and orderly. • Secure donations and Goodwill property to prevent theft and vandalism. • Assist Goodwill truck drivers during clean-up and trailer switches. • Keep ADC Supervisors informed of maintenance needs and other pertinent information. • Record accurate donation counts and provide reports as requested. • Must demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to GICW’s rules, policies, safety procedures, CARF and Kaizen philosophy. • Foster and demonstrate a positive team environment. • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be 18 years of age or older. • Must be able to effectively meet and communicate with the public. • Must demonstrate and exercise high standards in honesty and integrity. • Must be able to function independently in a work setting. • Must be able to read and complete a donation receipt, and maintain simple reports (e.g., donor count, etc.). WORKING CONDITIONS: • Work is primarily performed outdoors and in an open trailer with exposure to all weather conditions. • May have long periods of mobility and moving of merchandise. • Travel throughout the service area may be required. • Moderate adaptability required: Work environment occasionally hectic (fast paced) with irregular short deadlines and a limited number of critical or unusual situations. • DOT Strength Classification - Heavy. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
