LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Lawrence Township is ranked among the top 300 towns in New Jersey when it comes to coronavirus cases, according to a list Patch recently put together. The township ranks 294th out of 565 municipalities for coronavirus, averaging 7.93 cases per 1,000 residents, according to the data. The list is based on numbers obtained by Patch as of Friday. According to Mercer County data, Lawrence Township had 264 total cases as of Friday. Five of those cases were first reported as of May 9. As of Monday, 5,393 Mercer County residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, and there have been 340 fatalities.Contact tracing continues. As more testing sites open around the county, officials expect to see an increase in the number of positive cases. Mercer County continues to recommend basic steps for residents.
