“Yacht Club Steward/Custodian”. Yacht Club located in Long Branch, NJ on the beautiful shore of Pleasure Bay is offering a unique employment opportunity for a live-in “Club Steward/Custodian”. In addition to a monthly stipend the person we are seeking will live rent and utility free in a water front apartment on the grounds. Our ideal candidate is an individual with some degree of boating/marine knowledge, prior custodial experience and excellent people skills. Duties include: · Being on site each weekend of the spring/summer season. · Custodial duties for house and grounds which include housekeeping and grounds keeping duties, general security/ oversight of the house and marina complex. · Other duties as outlined in the positions job description. JOB DESCRIPTION Yacht Club located in Long Branch, NJ is seeking a club steward to live on the premises and to maintain the cleanliness of the club, perform minor repair of the house and grounds and to provide for the security of the facilities, marina and vessels. REPORTS TO Vice Commodore as primary and Fleet Captain as secondary. SPECIFIC DUTIES This is a part time job but due to the seasonal nature of boating, specific tasks are required during the boating season and the off season. A partial list of job duties is as follows: DOCK SECURITY - Check boat lines and canvas, check boats for unusual noises - Check to see that water lines are not leaking - Check to see that dock lights are functioning - Check for any unusual entry on boat docks - Check for unauthorized persons on docks or near docks HOUSE AND GROUNDS SECURITY - Check interior and exterior lighting systems and timer settings - Check parking lot daily for unauthorized vehicles and safety hazards - Check unauthorized persons on Club property - Ensure that doors and windows of clubhouse, tool shed and pool house are secure - Check all gas and electrical appliances are shut off - Ensure all alarm systems are activated HOUSE AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE - Thorough cleaning and maintenance of bathrooms, kitchen, bar, windows, fans, furnishings and floors - Routine disposal of trash and recyclables - Presence at events to discard extra trash - Snow removal from walkways during off season - Participation in club work days CONTRACT The specific job functions, living arrangements, salary, time off and vacation time is set forth at length in the employment contract.
