Please join us for our April dinner meeting with Gregory Grant, Business Consultant with Small Business Development Center at UNF Gregory will share how to explain your companies value, acquire new customers, forecast, and access to SBDC resources. The "Creating your Business Plan" presentation will cover the following objectives: Value Strategy: Tips on how to explain your company's value. Marketing Strategy: Methodology for acquiring customers. Financial Strategy: Tips for creating a 3-to-5-year financial forecast plan. Business Plan: Review and Provide access to a SBDC business plan template Biography Gregory Grant is a Business Consultant with the FSBDC at UNF. His expertise is in business management and operational process improvements. Gregory has diverse business experience ranging from corporations to entrepreneurship. Over the past 25 years, Gregory has managed retail locations, corporate operations, and owned several businesses. Gregory began entrepreneurship in Florida at an early age. He worked in his family business as an Independent Tile Contractor from 1989 to 1996. Gregory realized that he wanted to learn new knowledge and skills in multiple industries. This curiosity prompted him to join the United States Army in 1996. After years of active military service and reserve duty in leadership roles, Gregory begin using his managerial skills in retail management and corporate operations for large corporations in Florida. After working multiple years in management roles, Gregory begin building independent companies. Gregory enrolled at the University of Phoenix Bachelor of Science in Business Management program. During this educational program, coupled with his business experience, he gained a passion for helping small businesses grow and succeed. Gregory continued his academic journey earning a Master in Business Administration along with certifications in process improvement dynamics and entrepreneurship. This combination led to Gregory not only helping small businesses in a practical way, but also being able to teach business aspects in formal education settings. Gregory has assisted several business owners using his practical experience and educational knowledge. He has been referenced or featured in media publications such as Huffington Post, Forbes, MSNBC, EPN, BUZZ, and many others providing inspiration to business owners. Gregory has also been active in the veteran community assisting aspiring veteran business owners with resources to be successful. He has participated as a panelist and currently serves on the Vetrepreneur Committee in partnership with the City of Jacksonville and the Military Affairs Veterans Department. Gregory's philanthropy passions are rooted in continuous learning, actively sharing, and creative teaching. He is actively involved with the Continuing Workforce Education department at the Florida State College, which has allowed him to contribute to the platform of learning, sharing, and teaching in the Jacksonville community. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and piano instrumental music. Each day is a new adventure to learn, share, and teach!
