Spring Fest and Earth Day Celebration with Jeff & Paige! Looking for something fun and free to do with your children on BVSD's Spring In-Service Day? Hop into spring and celebrate Earth Day with Thorne Nature Experience at the Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center. We will have art projects, a bird-banding demo, scavenger hunts with Thorne educators, and dancing and singing with our favorite nature performers Jeff & Paige! In addition to this, your family will have an opportunity to be among the first to experience Boulder County’s newest Nature Play Area designed specifically for younger children ages 3-5. Schedule of Events: 10 am-11 am: Nature activities including birding, scavenger hunts, dip netting in the mini wetland, play in Boulder County's newest Nature Play Area, art activities, and nature explorations11 am-noon: Concert by Jeff & PaigePack a picnic lunch and a picnic blanket to enjoy the mountain views. This event will mostly be outdoors, rain or shine. Please plan for the weather and bring sunscreen, layers, and water. Carpooling with friends, riding bikes, or public transportation is recommended. We have the following safety measures in place for this event: Fewer participants than typical, outdoor activities, limited building use and masks required when inside the building.
