Are You Ready for a RESET? AN INTRO TO MINDFULNESS “Participating in Amy's mindfulness workshop was a delight. So much of our lives are filled with endless action and pressure. Mindfulness is like pressing the reset button. Amy taught us to slow down and just breathe and gently clear the mind of all the noisy junk. We were learning how to be peaceful yet totally aware. The benefits of this concentrated focusing cannot be overstated. I hope to keep working on this in my daily life." ~Medora Hebert “Great workshop. Peace and Serenity. I woke up a different person, i.e. perspective shift.” ~Marlaina Cataldi “I left feeling renewed, inspired and with a sense of calm... It was through Amy's low pressure discussions on mindfulness and guiding us through various meditations, that I noticed an immediate shift within me. I felt like I walked through a new door and entered into a whole different November... When I read in her workshop description to ‘come as you are,’ she really meant it. There was no judgement and no expectations." ~Jenny Jackson Class Description: This class will meet in-person on four Thursdays, May 12, 19, 26 and June 2, 6:30-7:45pm. Short talks, discussion and guided practice time will contribute to participants' understanding of what mindfulness is and why it matters. Students will be introduced to and practice various forms of meditation, including mindful movement. Because mindfulness and meditation are not "one size fits all," students will become aware of possibilities and discover what works for them individually. Participants will identify personalized and practical ways to integrate these potentially transformational practices into daily living, learning to slow down and develop greater inner stability and calm. Over the four weeks, students will gain various tools that can be helpful in cultivating a deeper and more compassionate connection to themselves, others, and to the world around them. This class is for you if: • you are new to mindfulness • you have tried to meditate on your own and didn't stay with it, for whatever reason • you would benefit from the support of a class • you have experience and would like to refresh your practice (Age requirement:18 years and above) * IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ * You are kindly requested to consider and agree to the following before registering: • Regular attendance (if unexpected circumstances arise, please notify the teacher before missing a class, if possible) • Fill out a brief teacher/class evaluation at the end of the 4 weeks • Portions of the class will be audio recorded to be shared with a teacher training mentor to evaluate teaching skills THANK YOU! Your commitment is appreciated and your presence will serve you and the group well. Feel free to contact Amy with any questions or concerns.
