MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) was elected vice-chair at-large of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) on Tuesday. "I'm honored my fellow Progressive Caucus members have entrusted me as a Vice-Chair for the 117th Congress," Watson Coleman said in a statement. She was elected Tuesday. According to a news release from her office, the congresswoman will focus on the legislation needed to help get everyday Americans "from the first of the month to the end of the month." "The COVID-19 pandemic has created great challenges for our country that will require bold solutions. I look forward to working with my fellow progressives to ensure we emerge from this crisis a more fair and just country," she said. Her efforts to address economic inequality – including introducing a jobs guarantee, guaranteed income, and the PAID act to prohibit discrimination in auto insurance, "offer a path forward for Progressives in Congress," her office said. Indian-American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal was elected chair of the CPC, for the 117th Congress. California Congresswoman Katie Porter was elected Deputy Chair, with Rep.
