WAUKESHA, WI — Police arrested one man and one was taken to a local hospital after a police chase ended in a crash near Madison Street and Joellen Drive on Sunday, the Waukesha Police Department announced.
Police tried to pull over a white Jeep that was speeding swerving in and out of lanes when it took off, Waukesha Police Captain Dan Baumann told Patch.
The Jeep led police on a chase through several streets before striking another car and then a tree on Joellen Drive around 8:37 p.m., police logs showed. One person got out of the car as flames were visible from the engine.
One man was arrested and awaited charges, police said. Another person was taken to a local hospital, but it's not clear how severe their injuries are.
Firefighters from the Waukesha Fire Department responded and extinguished the car fire, police logs showed.
