From the City of Iowa City: June 5, 2020 On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Iowa City Animal Services received notification of a person who was bitten by a dog. According to the information provided, the bite occurred around 3:30-4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, near the 400 block of North Van Buren Street. The victim was bitten while trying to loosen the dog's collar. The dog is described as large German Shepherd named Kiru. The dog was tied to a resident's porch. Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information regarding the rabies vaccination.
