Do you love coffee but want to learn more about what makes a "good" cup of coffee? A coffee tasting, also known as a cupping, is an exercise practiced regularly by coffee roasters, baristas, and coffee enthusiasts. By blindly sampling brewed coffee, you can compare flavor notes, quality, mouthfeel, and preference without bias. In this class, you will sample a variety of coffees from different roasters, learn to identify flavor notes, and better understand why you like the coffees that you do. All coffee lovers are welcome to this beginner class and discussion. Please note: Masks are optional. About the teachers: Dory Cooper and Matt Bartee are co-owners of "Cozy," a Chattanooga based coffee company. Dory and Matt have worked as baristas, educators, and managers for a variety of specialty coffee shops and national coffee roasters since 2014. They believe that high quality coffee should be accessible and are passionate about building community through coffee.
