SUMMIT, NJ — Welcome to the March 28 edition of the Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up during the week in Summit. Board of Education Budget Meeting The school board will hold a meeting on Monday in the Summit City Hall Common Council Chamber beginning at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be for the Board of Education to certify and adopt the final 2022-2023 school budget for presentation to the Board of School Estimate. The City will then hold a hearing, starting at 7 p.m., to approve the budget. The school board recently broke down next year's budget at its previous meeting, which included a tax levy increase. Read more: Summit School District Announces New Budget, Tax Levy Increase Mayor's Office Hours Mayor Nora Radest will hold office hours on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Mayor's Office to answer any questions and listen to residents' concerns. No appointment is necessary. Masks are required to be worn inside City Hall at all times. Summit Eduction Foundation's Spring For Excellence A benefit hosted by the Education Foundation will be held on Friday to support Summit Public Schools. The event, held at the Summit Elks Lodge, will feature a silent auction — both in person and online — as well as music, food and cocktails. Event tickets are on sale now.
