Families and kids of all ages are invited to join us on Sunday, May 22 from 3-4 pm for an afternoon exploring philosophy with Scott Hershovitz, U-M Law and Philosophy Professor and author of the amazing new book for families, Nasty, Brutish, and Short: Adventures in Philosophy With My Kids.
Scott's two sons, Rex and Hank, have been raising (and answering!) philosophical questions from the time they could talk. They re-created ancient arguments -- and they advanced entirely new ones. According to Scott, that’s not unusual. Every kid is a philosopher.
This event includes a storytime with Scott, followed by some guided prompts for kids to explore the philosophical quandaries found in our favorite picture books. We’ll also enjoy a creative activity, a kid-led philosophical discussion, and even some time for a light author Q&A for the parents.
Come out and play, readers! It's gonna be fun.
