EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven Police Department officer Jayquan Wilkins has been on the beat for 14 months. Last week, he filled in for East Haven High School's resource officer Nicole Burrell. While there, he took the opportunity to engage with students, in the hallways and on the court.
"We are always proud to see our officers engaging with students," police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo told Patch shortly after posting this video to social media.

"Like officer Wilkins has."
In the video, Wilkins can be seen scoring some points with kids, as he shoots hoops and shares some skills.
"Fostering positive relationships is what this job is all about," Murgo said.
