Press release from the University of Houston-Downtown: March24, 2022 UHD Alumni and Houston Council Member Mike Knox will be on campus as part of the Center for Public Service & Community Research's vitalalumni series to discuss "A Non-Conformist Approach to Life!" 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29. The At-Large Position 1 Council Member will share his life choices from ending his high school journey to receiving a GED to joining the United States Air Force to earning a UHD degree. Knox also will share his tenure at the Houston Police Department (HPD) working with gangs that resulted in the creation of the HPD's Gang Unit, his career as a consultant and public speaker, becoming an author and now serving the City of Houston. Those interested in attending the event may do so in-person at the Commerce Street Building, Room C100 or via zoom by registering online.
