NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI - East Greenwich High's Julia Blessing and North Kingstown's Dempsey Campbell were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region team. The two were the only Rhode Island players named to the Southern New England squad, which included 11 players from Connecticut. Blessing, a senior midfielder, was named Most Valuable Player of the RI state playoffs as she helped lead her team to a state championship. The Avengers won the title with a 2-1 victory against Campbell's North Kingstown team in the state final. Campbell is a junior midfielder/forward.
