Press release from City of Fort Worth: March 24, 2022 Join Hull Works founder Brent Hull and fellow building craftsmen for shop talk, beers and snacks at 5:30 p.m. March 31 at 201 Lipscomb St. There are in-person and virtual options. This Building & Brews event will focus on Period Revival (1920-1940). At the end of World War I, 2 million American soldiers returned from Europe where they had seen original historic homes firsthand, including English Tudor and Colonial; French Chateau and Beaux Arts; Italian Renaissance and Spanish Revival. This inspired European period houses in America, which became the prevailing style in the U.S. for 20 years, also referred to as Eclectic Houses. This lecture will explore the building technology of the early 20th century and how it made building period houses possible. Register for an in-person or virtual option.
