This past week, Knoxville Police Department officers either arrested or misdemeanor cited 68 individuals between the ages of 18 and 61 with weapon or drug charges.
In a review of KPD incident reports of events that occurred between Monday, March 14 and Sunday, March 20, KPD officers also seized at the least the following: 15 firearms that were possessed in violation of state law, nearly 50 grams of heroin, over 120 grams of cocaine, over 215 grams of ecstasy, over 200 pills, over 27 grams of methamphetamine, about 31 grams of unknown narcotics, over 120 individuals pieces of drug paraphernalia, and over $1,900 in cash from suspected drug sales and distribution.
The charges from those incidents included multiple counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, convicted felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, and auto theft.
KPD officers are working hard around the clock to get deadly narcotics off of the streets of Knoxville and firearms from those who do harm in the community. The KPD wants and needs the community's help, and residents can play a big role in those efforts to keep Knoxville safe.
