April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and Buffalo Grove Police are partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Illinois State Police and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies throughout the state to remind motorists to "Drop It and Drive.
At a time when traffic fatalities are on the rise in Illinois and across the country due to distracted drivers, the Police are committed to reducing the traffic crashes caused by motorists who are texting or talking on their cell phones while driving.
Motorists can expect to see increased patrols and enforcement zones over the entire month of April and police will be ticketing drivers who use their phones while driving.
The distracted driving campaign is administered by IDOT and federal traffic safety funds.
