Vita Education Services www.vitaeducation.org JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Assessment Specialist (2 positions available) Location: Lower Bucks (Bensalem, Bristol, and Warminster) Reports to: The Assessment Specialist reports to the Directors of ESL and Literacy Programs Summary of job: The Assessment Specialist is a temporary part-time position through June 30, 2022. It has the potential for longer hours in the new program year with additional duties, after July 2022. This position encompasses both day and evening hours in accordance with class and student schedules. Compensation: This is an ancillary position, being paid for hours worked, which includes assessment of students and concomitant responsibilities. Mileage to testing sites from Vita sites will also be compensated. Salary will depend on the applicant’s level of qualification. Responsibilities: The Assessment Specialist will be responsible for administering standardized adult basic education tests that have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to groups and individuals in both paper-based and computer-based formats. Duties include: Administering pre- and post-tests to students in groups or to individualsAdministering tests both in person and remotelyTravelling to Vita and partner sites where tests are administeredScoring tests and preparing reports on individual students and on class results for submission to Program Directors and teachersCompleting PDE approved training to administer all forms of tests used by VitaTransporting assessor laptop and student Chromebooks (up to 20 devices) from Vita sites to testing sites and returning them to Vita sites for chargingCreating a video or PowerPoint to familiarize students with computer-based assessments and showing them how to take the assessmentsTroubleshooting when students have difficulty taking the tests, especially online testsCompliance with Vita’s policies and procedures as specified in the Vita Employment Policy Manual and COVID-19 Safety Plan Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma combined with IT experience; Associate’s degree or technical degree preferredFamiliarity and comfort working with online programsCompetence in word processing, email, navigating the Internet, and using online platformsStrong organizational skillsAbility to pay close attention to detailAbility to meet tight deadlinesAbility to lift and move computers and print materials between Vita sites and testing sitesMaturity and sensitivity in working with diverse populationsPA child abuse, criminal, and FBI clearances.
