Here are the top three stories in Savannah today: The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is reviewing if the Talmadge Bridge in Savannah can accommodate every big ship ready to make use of the Port of Savannah. Because the deepening of the Savannah Harbor is complete, the state has started to determine if other major projects in association with the harbor are necessary. GDOT Commissioner Russell McMurry says it's too early to tell what the next steps will be. (WSAV)During an altercation on Saturday, two off-duty Savannah Police Department officers and civilian Robert Gadson exchanged gunfire, resulting in Gadson being shot. Gadson was involved in an argument with a bouncer and pulled out a handgun; the two officers gave verbal commands for him to drop his weapon. The officers administered first aid to Gadson after the altercation and he was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. He remains in critical condition.
