Press release from the Fremont Police Department: March 24, 2022 Incident: Arson and Burglary Investigation Report Number: 220323042 Location: 40580 Albrae Street On March 23, 2022, at about 8:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Walmart on Albrae Street for a report of a large fire. Upon arrival, officers observed a significant amount of smoke inside. Fremont Police and Fire Department personnel coordinated an evacuation of employees and customers from the store. Fortunately, there were no known injuries at the time. The preliminary investigation indicates the incident was an arson that was associated with a burglary involving multiple suspects. Detectives from the Fremont Police Department have taken over the investigation and are reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses in order to identify the suspects.
