Nepal Day parade to be held in San Francisco. On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2079, the Non-Resident Nepali Association(NRNA) USA West coast Region and California Chapter has planned a grand event called Nepal Day Parade followed by a Cultural program which is scheduled to be held on April 9 in the city of San Francisco. According to the information given in a press conference organized by the organizers, The program is said to be widely supported by the local Nepali organizations and is expected to be one of the best among the ones held so far in the USA. At the press conference, NRNA NCC USA West Coast Regional Coordinator Shri Ram Thapa said that the event would be held on the main road of downtown San Francisco followed by a cultural performance that featured Voice of Nepal winner Kiran Gajmer, Singer Milan Lama, Sangita Thapa Magar, and Uday Raj Bhattarai and other local talents. The organizing committee is visiting different places and meeting various organizations including Local Lions clubs for the promotion and support to make it a grand success. Most of the social media are covered by flyers and photos of the event. "Nepal will be reflected in San Francisco, Thapa said. "We want to touch Nepal even while living abroad. No matter how many festivals come, we will remember Nepal. We urge all of us to participate in the Nepal Day parade to be organized on the occasion of Nepali New Year." The organization is also expected to get participation from outside California. So they urge everyone to support and make it the most glorious event among the Nepali community. According to the organizing committee, the most awaited Nepal Day Parade will also feature Punche Baja, Bhajan, Lakhe dance, and Jhanki featuring costumes of various castes and ethnic groups of Nepal. On March 19th, 2022 Buddha Nepal peace foundation represented the First-ever Asian Cultural festival 2022 held in the heart of Downtown Berekely. The event had featured Asian traditional food and drinks, live performances from Berkeley Thai Temple Dancers, Fremont Thai Temple Dancers, Nepali Dancers representing Buddha Nepal peace foundation, Japanese Taiko, Burmese, and other Asian countries were the major participants of the festival. During the festival, the Nepal day parade was also promoted and announced while performing Nepali cultural dances. Before the Pandemic every year on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha, the national hero of Nepal, "Pioneer of Peace, Symbol of Non-Violence. the Foundations has successfully organized five times in a row “Peace Parades” in the beautiful cities of Berkeley and San Francisco. Let's join in hand to make a moment of pride, It's not just an NRN program but for the entire Nepali community, it's also an opportunity to showcase our cultural heritage to a diverse community of California.
