TUCSON, AZ — Tucson police on Friday arrested a man they suspect of being involved in a double homicide in Tucson last week, police said.
Zachary Naifeh, 24, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, according to police.
He is currently being held in the Pima County Jail on $2 million bond, according to jail records.
He's accused in the shooting deaths of Celina R. Garcia, 39 and Rashad Laron Smith, 44, who were found laying near South 12th Avenue just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. Police later learned that the victims and Naifeh knew each other, police said.
The two were pronounced dead at the scene in the 7100 block of South 12th Avenue, police said.
Police found Naifeh Friday, after tracking down a Jeep seen leaving the area after the shooting, police said. When police spotted the Jeep, Naifeh was driving, police said.
