HILLSBOROUGH, CA — Police in Hillsborough are investigating two residential burglaries, both reported within a 24-hour period. Suspects broke through rear glass windows of unoccupied homes in both incidents. The first burglary occurred on Wednesday at around 8:10 p.m. in the 2900 block of Privet Drive. The burglar used a ladder they located on the property to climb up to the second story and break into the home through a window. The second burglary occurred in the 900 block of Hillsborough Blvd. sometime between Wednesday and Thursday. Police said a rise in property crimes is typical during this time of the year, noting a spike in residential burglaries regionally. "Our Investigations Bureau is working with allied agencies to identify the responsible suspects for these burglaries," the HPD said in a statement. The HPD said is asking residents to check their surveillance systems for any suspicious persons or vehicles during the time frames of these crimes. Anyone with information about this incident or who notices suspicious activity is asked to call the HPD at (650) 375-7470.
