NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown Town Manager Ralph Mollis, under the direction of the North Kingstown Town Council, has declared a state of emergency amid the coronavirus epidemic. The emergency order is in effective until April 8 unless extended, canceled or amended through a subsequent resolution. As part of the declaration, all non-essential public meetings are canceled and will be rescheduled. All town offices and departments will operate on a schedule as determined by the town manager and may restrict in-person activity for the health and safety of the members of the public and municipal employees. The town's library and senior center have been closed. The town will make available and publicize all online, mail, appointment and drop-box services available in order to maintain a sufficient level of services to the general public during this state of emergency. The town is encouraging all health clubs to close, and will close all public restrooms to discourage individuals from visiting playgrounds.
