Description

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown Probate Court will resume its regular sessions on the third Wednesday of each month in April with a teleconference session on Zoom on April 15 starting at 8:30 a.m. Court will be conducted remotely for at least April, May and June due to the coronavirus health emergency. Practitioners should not go to the court. The probate clerk will send Zoom teleconference invitations to all attorneys requesting a court hearing. The invite will include the link and phone information needed to participate in the hearing. The requesting practitioner is required to then provide that information to anyone entitled to notice of the hearing or proceeding, except for proceedings to be heard on waiver. Matters that are contested and require testimony, or otherwise cannot be resolved via teleconference, will be continued to the subsequent regular session, or a later date if the parties agree. Emergency sessions will continue to be heard through a special request from an attorney for an emergency session. Emergency sessions will then be provided through teleconference. "Thank you for all your professionalism and civility," Probate Court Judge Brian A. Fielding said.
