Description

From the City of Iowa City: by Marcia Bollinger If you haven't already seen it, make sure to stop by the Capitol Street Parking Ramp to view this extraordinary art installation. Artist Jason Snell will be hosting the closing reception of his motion-sensor installation "Mutable Sequencing" from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at the parking ramp, 220 South Capitol St., in Downtown Iowa City. Over the last 11 weeks, pedestrian traffic through a stairwell in the parking ramp transformed a music piece that was written during the opening reception. At this closing, Jason will present the original musical score and light sequence, and the transformed one. The installation is located in the easterly most stairwell on East Burlington Street that serves the parking ramp. Come by anytime during the reception to meet the artist and see the summary results of this unique Iowa City public art installation. The project is funded, in part, by the Iowa City Public Art Program. This press release was produced by the City of Iowa City. The views expressed here are the author's own.
