NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown will begin selling passes for Town Beach on May 18 in anticipation of its opening by Memorial Day weekend. Town offices remain closes as of now due to the new coronavirus health crisis. Gov. Gina Raimondo said that beaches are likely to be part of second phase of the phased-in reopening of the state and its economy that began this past weekend. She said that her hopes are to allow beaches to be opening by Memorial Day weekend in two weeks. There will be a gate guard checking for passes. The gate guard will not be selling passes. They must be obtained prior to entering the beach. With town offices closed, passes will be sold outside of the building on days when weather is not inclement. They will be available at 100 Fairway Drive on Monday and Tuesdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Extented hours will be offered on June 4 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon and June 20 from noon to 4 p.m. Those buying passes must have a photo ID, the registration for the car that will be used and cash or a check made out to the Town of North Kingstown. Passes can also be obtained via mail here. Resident passes are $10 per vehicle and non-resident passes are $20. Discount passes for senior are available. Those applying via mail are asked to allow two weeks for processing. Questions can be directed to www.northkingstown.org or through contacting the Recreation Department at 401-268-1540.
