Small Business Owners In Iowa City Can Now Apply For Coronavirus Grants

Press release from the City of Iowa City December 7, 2020 The City of Iowa City is now accepting grant applications from small businesses in Iowa City impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis, through a partnership with the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG). Grants up to $15,000 (up to $10,000 for businesses without employees) are available to qualifying small businesses to support ongoing operational needs. Learn more about eligibility and how to apply Eligible businesses must meet federal requirements for retaining or hiring primarily low-moderate income employees or by qualifying as a microenterprise (a small business owned by a low-moderate income person with four or fewer employees). Details and an application are available at www.icgov.org/financialassistance. To provide a better understanding of the program and eligibility, a virtual information session will be held via Zoom at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020. City of Iowa City and ECICOG staff will be on hand to discuss program requirements, the application process, as well as answer questions. Those interested can register here.
